Elijah Mintz brings a wealth of knowledge to this team. For over 5 years, he has worked with the youth of DC through delivering superior community support & CBI services. He has been most successful with reaching some of the most hard to reach consumers by assisting them with character building. He specializes in emphasizing job preparedness through job coaching. In addition to working with youth, Mr. Mintz has experience facilitating substance abuse groups for adults. He is a graduate of Morgan State University.  



Tina Fennell has over 10 years of experience in mental health. She has served in the following capacities: Case Management/Advocacy, Intake Coordination, Community Support, and Tutoring/Mentoring. Additionally, Ms. Fennell has gained valuable experience through her facilitation of groups. She has conducted groups on budgeting, parenting skills, independent living skills, & forming healthy relationships.  Ms. Fennell's group experience also included  teaching elementary-aged girls improved self-esteem and positive self image. She is a graduate of  Marymount Manhattan College. 



Tonya Johnson is the CEO & President of KNOWLEDGE 1ST Educational Consulting Services, LLC. She is also a Certified Anger Management Specialist I. Her mission is to enhance & develop the academic, vocational, socio-emotional, & economic abilities of individuals & families.  As a senior analyst with the Federal Government for 20+ years, Ms. Johnson also has over 17 years of PT time experiences providing education advocacy, curriculum design, consultation, training & professional development services to youths & adult groups. Her experience customizing anger management groups for angry children, teens & adults, promotes improved anger management skills. Ms. Johnson's parenting groups are designed to teach caretakers effective parenting skills. Ms. Johnson is a graduate of Trinity University.  

 

Mrs. Laniece Small’s career as a Social Worker has afforded her the privilege to serve children, youth & families through anger management & parenting
groups. Internship positions that included the DCPS Head Start program & an Adoption Internship at PG County Department of Social Services allowed her to customize parenting groups for two diverse sets of parents: low-income single parents, primarily of color under 30 years old, & middle to upper-class couples of color. Currently as a School Social Worker at the Dorothy I. Height Community Academy Public Charter School in DC., invaluable group dynamic experiences continue given that she facilitates parenting groups such as “Dealing with your child’s anger,” & “Could my child be a bully?” She also conducts weekly anger manage-ment groups with students at the request of their parents, teachers, or themselves. She is a graduate of Howard University.


 

Jerry B. King has over 25 years of professional experiences within the mental health field. For a decade, he acquired invaluable group work experiences at PIW (Psychiatric Institute of Washington) to include group facilitator for patients with PTSD & Dissociative Disorders; conducted weekly adult and adolescent anger management, coping & life skills groups; and he facilitated weekly Lesbian, Gay, & Transgendered groups. Mr. King holds a Masters Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Health Care management from the University Of Phoenix. He has a BA degree in Sociology from Albany State University.

 

Emma Jean Norfleet-Haley, LICSW, LCSW-C, LCSW, CAMS I: President/CEO of Haley's Mind of Care Services, LLC (HMOCS). She holds a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology, and both a Master & a Bachelor Degree in Clinical Social Work. Professional experiences for the past 27 years have included Child Welfare Neglect and Abuse, Community Mental Health, Gerontology, DCPS Head Start Program, Domestic Violence, Washington Hospital Center's psychiatric unit & working with individuals that were homeless. This varied work history offered repeated experiences facilitating groups to include adolescent and adult anger management, parenting and domestic violence groups. Dr. Norfleet-Haley is a Certified Anger Management Specialist I, and a Licensed Clinical Social worker with over 15 years of supervisory and professional training experiences. Years have been devoted to teaching social workers how to prepare and pass the social work licensure exam.
